Bullies are not nice and they make you feel sad,
If they keep hurting you, you must tell your teacher, carer, mum or dad. LOVE IS…….
Love is a walk on the beach on a hot summer's day
Love is that feeling you never want to go away
Love is an arrow straight through your heart
Love is where you try to leave but just can't!
Love is wearing your partner's shirt
Love is someone there when you're hurt
Love is warm like biscuits and tea
But love is something that isn't happening to me!
Love is something that I haven't got!
Not loving someone hurts a lot!
By H, aged 15 Poem by a 9 year old written in the school summer holidays..
If you go into the woods today
You'd have a good surprise
For a cat that likes to jump around
And play with a ball
Always with a little smile!
Fantastic review of George's Marvellous Medicine
We went to see George's Marvellous Medicine on a cold windy afternoon in December. We sat up in the top seats of the Octagon theatre. Mum had bought us a programme so we had a quick flick through it before the lights went off and the show started.
George's Marvellous Medicine is a brilliant production. All 4 main actors were great and made us find it hard to remember that it was just a show. The old granny was a bit scary, but she made us laugh a number of times. The stage was well thought out and beautifully decorated, as were the props. We particularly enjoyed the scene where the granny grew and grew as we watched in open-mouthed amazement. We also liked the scenes where George's medicine was being fed to various chickens and, as ingredients were being left out of the mixture, we were all tense with suspense, wondering what different effects the medicine would have on the poor chickens each time. Everyone jumped when George's father rather foolishly fed his prize bull some of the medicine. It grew to giant proportions and its head came crashing through the kitchen wall. It was difficult to choose our very favourite scene but we think it was when George was collecting together all the different ingredients for his medicine.
During the interval, while the other actors were probably enjoying refreshements, and we enjoyed our snacks and drinks, the granny was left suspended in the air; with a sign in front of her saying "Don't disturb the Grandma". We were all very sympathetic towards her as we thought she looked terribly bored.
We loved the performance and were disappointed when it ended.
George's Marvellous Medicine was fun, exciting and full of surprises. It was interesting to watch and it was a great day out with our family.
