Free BSmart Cards for Looked After Children

All of Bolton's looked after children can get a free smart card which can be used as a library and a leisure card. Contact corporateparentingteam@bolton.gov.uk with the name and date of birth of the child and a letter and application form will be sent to you. You will then need to take the child, letter and application form to the Contact Centre in the Town Hall or any library for a photo to be taken and the form to be processed. No other ID is needed.

The BSmart scheme for 13 - 16-year-olds is now ended.

Eating well for looked after children and young people
The Caroline Walker Trust

This report sets out practical and nutritional guidelines to help all those who care for children in residential homes and foster care understand more about eating well for this group.

The report will enable carers, and those who monitor care settings, to ensure that the young people have a nutritionally balanced, varied and tasty diet. It also provides recommendations for linking food knowledge into care and the skills that young people will need when they become independent.
